There are many components of a wedding reception that are important... the decorations, the food, the cake/cupcakes, etc. But, when it comes time to party, the music is arguably the most important. On that score, we recommend Above the Clouds enthusiastically.

Paul was a pleasure to work with. He understood our musical tastes and accommodated our requests... both before and during the reception. He made sure to be clear on the timeline and his announcing role. And most importantly, he put together a playlist that had our guests up and dancing the whole time... even giving us extra time at the end of evening because the late stayers were still shaking their stuff!

Many guests commented on what a great DJ we had. Our reception was all we envisioned and Paul had a huge part in that. For all those reasons, we’d recommend Above the Clouds without reservation.

We foolishly thought we could just get by with a Spotify playlist for our wedding. Thank goodness Above the Clouds was available when we finally came to our senses and hired them! We asked our guests to supply their favorite songs and sent them over. They expertly played a wide variety of music that made everyone happy and some how all worked together.

They went out of their way to make sure we had the best day and the best party we could ever imagine. They were professional, communicative, and fun! All things you want when planning your wedding.

Book them and buy some comfortable shoes, cause you’ll be dancing the whole time and don’t want to be held back.

We're beyond happy and impressed with how Above the Clouds DJ'd and emceed our wedding day at Edgewood Yacht Club. They first went above and beyond to set up for the ceremony, which had a few small constraints given the building's logistics. Paul made the audio and speakers work exceedingly well for our unforgettable nuptials!

Once the cocktail hour began, Paul was off and running. Friends and family members from the bride and groom's side got things kicked off when Paul let them perform karaoke. It wasn't even part of our plan, but it was definitely appreciated!

Paul is not only a consummate professional but also a long time friend and the setting, the venue and many of the people attending our wedding from the groom's side all knew Paul well, so this was a bit of a homecoming. He's well known in the New England music scene, so it was a pleasure and greatly appreciated he was able to take part in our special day. He helped realize our wedding vision in a big way.

We gave Paul an outline and he handled it very well the rest of the way. For toasts and our first dance, Paul made the reception and everything flow naturally and comfortably with his soothing, reassuring host voice. We also provided a playlist, and he took it to another level as members from both sides of the wedding party were dancing non-stop to his strong selections between Top 40, old school hip-hop and R&B and current music, which we greatly appreciated. Everyone got involved, and we mean everyone, from the younger teens to the older adults. If Edgewood Yacht Club did not have a 10pm noise curfew we would have gone another hour dancing without thinking or skipping a beat. That's how lively it was! When we needed to turn down the volume and transition, Paul was more than capable of directing people to the after party location and setting the mood again to send everyone home and cap off the night.

For days and weeks after the wedding, family members and friends continued to reflect on how nice our wedding was, and especially give credit to Paul and his music selection. We had more dancing, exictement and commingling between our families than we possibly expected during our planning and, again, that's all thanks to Paul's guidance and song selection. The memories from our night are everlasting.

Above the Clouds DJ'ed our wedding and was amazing. My wife and I were pretty much all over the place as to what we wanted in terms of the music at our reception (we both have pretty wide ranging tastes in music). In addition, our wedding song was an MP3 edited version of an old Italian folk song. Needless to say, we needed some expert help. Oh, and we were on a budget. Easy, right? Enter Above the Clouds.

We met with Paul, he listened to us ramble, asked some questions... and then calmly told us not to worry about it - he knew what we wanted and could take care of everything for us. We relaxed, got him our wedding song, and the next thing we knew, we were celebrating to an awesome and perfectly choreographed mix of music.

Paul has an innate sense of the crowd when he DJs, and he seamlessly integrates what you're looking for with what the crowd wants. You get it all - the music you want and the music that keeps everyone dancing. He also pretty slick with the mic - he MC'd our reception too! All of this, and we stayed within our budget.

We couldn't be happier. Book these guys.

Above the Clouds was a perfect addition to our wedding day. Paul was equal parts professional and fun, and he really kept the party going strong for the evening by having a great read on the crowd for when to slow it down and amp it back up again. As a gay couple, we especially appreciated his tasteful humor with some of the more "traditional" love songs like "When A Man Loves [Another Man]".

Paul is perfectly able to spin his own crowd-pleasing mix while also graciously taking requests and making announcements spur of the moment. After a quick phone call and a few e-mails we didn't have to fuss about any day-of logistics - it was truly a worry-free experience.

We will definitely be calling Above the Clouds again for any future DJ needs!

I know I'm biased, but that was the best party I've ever been to. Andrew and Paul knocked it out of the park - from the thorough planning sessions prior to the big day, to a seamless experience during the ceremony, to a packed dance floor at the reception.

I was so impressed with the level of detail that they wanted so they could get the best feel for the day we had in mind. Through the planning sessions, they brought up key parts of the day that we hadn't even thought of yet. After talking through everything, I felt confident that all of the little details would go smoothly, and they did. Andrew and Paul had everything covered.

We had an outdoor wedding with no equipment from the venue other than an electrical outlet. Andrew and Paul brought everything in, scoped out the scene the day before and arrived hours before on the day of to test everything and make sure our ceremony would reach our 200+ guests in an open air situation. We got so many compliments on the dance party that ensued at the reception. Andrew and Paul kept the hits coming and read the crowd to adjust on the fly to ensure the good times never stopped.

Looking back through the pictures, I was so happy to see all the people that I didn't expect to dance out there cutting a rug and having a blast. And those we did expect to be out there were in good form, only to have their A game shine through with the help of Andrew and Paul.

If you're looking for a non-stop party and surprise jams around every corner, Andrew and Paul are your guys. Highly recommended!

Above the Clouds Entertainment (particularly Paul, who was our main point of contact and DJ) were amazing. We were out of the country when we began planning our wedding and had to do most of it via email.

Paul was highly responsive and able to answer all of our questions quickly, unlike other vendors we tried dealing with – very important when trying to plan over the internet. He had great suggestions as well, and we had no concerns the wedding would not go smoothly. On the night of, we gave Paul free rein in choosing every song which turned out to be a fantastic choice. He played the right songs at the right time and had everyone – especially the mother of the bride – partying.

Another thing (which hadn’t even occurred to me in planning) was how well Paul MC’d the event. He handled the microphone with ease, and was truly flawless. We got many compliments throughout the night on how great he was. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ/MC.

Talk about amazing! These guys are the most helpful people I've met. Paul & Andrew are the music lover's DJs. They made our wedding playlist fully customized, we didn't have to worry about anything. We told what we liked and they nailed it.

We told them particular songs we wanted and they mixed them seamlessly. We had great custom music for every part of the wedding; ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dance party. What a dance party! They kept the everyone dancing & entertained throughout the night with hits from Funk & Soul, Disco, 80's 90's and Top 40. No corny songs either! Everyone had something to dance to.

I would recommend them to any of my friends!

My husband and I got married this past August and Paul and Andrew were our DJs. Every time we saw them play in providence before the wedding all of our friends kept saying how good they were. When our day finally came they got the party started without fail.

You can't have a wedding without someone who can make everyone dance! They did not let us down!!

They MC'd the event beautifully. They knew just what to play and when. The dinner was peaceful yet interesting. They listened to our requests, but made sure to roll with the night. We wanted everyone to dance - and they did - for hours! They knew how to set the pace for the whole event. From oldies, to indie rock, to dance/hip hop mixes all of their transitions were smooth.
